Sunday.

Yesterday morning we had a choir practice at the home of Margaret (our choirmistress), followed by a very pleasant sandwich lunch that Margaret had laid on for us. Eleven choristers attended, which was pretty good- for us. I've seen old photographs of our choir which show sixty or so choristers. Youngsters can't be persuaded to sing nowadays, I'm afraid. Our present dozen or so choristers range in age from early fifties (Geoffrey, our tenor line) to ninety six. And all points in between. After lunch I walked through town to our scrabble club and enjoyed three good games (won two of them). This morning we went to Eucharist, Ann serving, self in choir. Whilst the choir was robing, one of the sopranos had a panic attack when she realised she had left her key in her door. For once in a way we'd gone to Church in the car, so I was able to run her to her home, where she recovered her doorkey, locked her home, then we sped back to Church, just in time to join in the procession at the start of the service. Since then it's been a nice quiet day, but I've not got much done (in the workshop), so must now go and remedy that. Goodnight all.
P.s. Should have said :- Took the above photo of thatched cottages in a village about five miles from here last autumn.
