Saturday.

Yesterday we went in the morning to cafe church, and enjoyed our usual coffee and croissant. Then Ann went off to do her weekly cleaning stint in the Church, and I spent about an hour cleaning, tidying, and getting out fresh books for the book stall/reading area. On the way home took the above snap of a corner of the Churchyard with snowdrops and aconites. In the evening we walked to the Cinema club in the Ansell Centre and saw a film called Ghost Writer. Not a bad film, but a bit cheerless, and moral seems to be- never trust ANY politician. Rather stating the obvious I think.

Took the above photo when walking into Scrabble Club this afternoon, of what remains of the late medieval kitchen, which was attached to our Guild Hall. The beamed area to the left of the picture was the vast fireplace where all the cooking was done. When a banquet was held in the Guildhall, the cooking was done away from the main building, in this kitchen, then carried into the Guildhall and served. Should think it was probably lukewarm by the time it was eaten. New lady at scrabble- Joan. Said she'd played a simplified form of scrabble with her children, but that was a long time ago. She said she wanted to relearn- and polish up- her game; and, at that, she didn't do badly. Joyce and I took it quite gently with her. Two fairly close games. Then on the third game new girl Joan had a good hand, rediscovered the lost skills, and won hands down. A pretty good afternoon's play. Ann walked into town and met me, and we walked home together. Must knock off now and do a quick job before I go to bed, on a ramrod (and ramrod pipe) I'm making for a flintlock holster pistol. I wish you all a very good night.

Hi Uncle Mike,

Just thought you'd like to know that I am now doing a new blog. All others are dormant, but this one is going to be regularly updated. I'm afraid it's not a personal blog - but if you're interested you'll get to see what I am photographing!

Evening Pa,
Apologies for not returning your call, had an insanely busy weekend, 3 football matches, dinner on Saturday with Mel and James, test driven 2 cars and a leaving'do' for long term work colleague last night - unfortunately had a teeeny, tiny bit too much to drink and don't really recall much of the party...but ladies in office this morning said I had a good time.
Have purchased new car, VW Polo, arriving early March, hopefully !
Loved the Mini Clubman but as only 3 doors, just not practical so am being Mrs Sensible and have gone for 1.4, 5 door, petrol sipping, front wheel drive, emission friendly, German car. Am actually rather looking forward to it !
Much Love
Will attempt to call tomorrow
Stig
