Still the same rainbow. Don't know what the dark part down the middle of the picture is.

It would be nice to say it was of course a hurricane... but I suspect it is a windscreen wiper blurred by being deployed at full speed!

It may possibly be your windscreen wiper.

I think I may have taken some photoes of the same rainbow from my back garden! Hope you are both well, love Maggie x

Hi Carl and Maggie. As there was a distinct shortage of hurricanes and tornados in East Anglia that evening (we both noticed it; also a lack of U.F.Os and meterites) I think you must be right, especially as our car has a centrally mounted, single, front windscreen wiper, which would tally with the photo. Thanks. Mike.
P.s. I wish I had a brain!

P.s. Think my memory is skidding. Got inot car this morning and found TWO windscreen wipers in front of me. Ann says the single central one was two cars ago- the Mer. estate!!!!!
P.p.s. meteorites. meteorites.meteorites.

I believe the Meterites were a pagan sect originating in London who placed votive offerings of coinage in parking meters in order to propitiate the road-gods and their earthly representatives, the Traffic Wardens...

Your knowlege of North European mythology is, of course, unimpeachable, but you have failed to name the traffic gods themselves, who were of course the Traffic Wodens.

Although the largest of these was called the T'rrific Woden.

Amazing, Mike - I had not percieved the semantic significance of my own words until you enlightened me.

I believe the Hindus also worshipped their own Road-gods, particularly a rather large lorry known as Juggernaut, whilst the Greeks honoured Pan(technicon)for his prodigious furniture removal capacity!
