Friday.

And finally (for today, anyway) above inscription on tomb in church below. Rather sad. Philip Tylney, Esquier, sounds a lonely man.

Hard times Mike, even for the nobility and better off folk.
Nothing more precious than descendants, happy is the man who hath his quiver full of them.
(Psalm 127 v. 5 - I had to look it up, I couldn't remember where it came from!)

I've just found a record of a marriage in 1909 of Pop T.'s sister Emma - no details as to the groom though! Utterly engaging and totally frustrating this genealogy lark!

Ha! - v word is reumbre. Just like remember but shadowed like my memory!

They are out near the Terringtons. You have a choice of Tilney All Saints, Tilney Fen End, Tilney High End, and Tilney St. Lawrence. You mention Grandad's sister Emma. He had two sisters, Harriett and ??? Can't remember the other's name, but I don't think it was Emma. Sorry. Let me know, please.

Your probably thinking of Lillie Smart Trower (Great Aunt Lil).
Do you recall Pop got a letter once informing him of the recent loss of one of his siblings in which he also learnt of the earlier passing of another sister which saddened him deeply - I believe she would have been the Emma of whom we knew nothing.
